Inside Mac Games has posted a review of Virtual Programming's Horse Racing Manager. Here's a clip from the review:

When I started playing Horse Racing Manager I expected two things. First, that I would enjoy the management portion and the horce racing itself would be boring. Second, that the game would have some replayability in different areas. Horse Racing Manager didn't fit my expectations at all.

World of Warcraft Updated to 2.1
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 4 comments

Blizzard Entertainment has updated the ever popular World of Warcraft to version 2.1. The update includes the addition of The Black Temple for players to explore in the Outlands, the new Nether Drake mount, an epic flight form for druids, and the new Ruins of Lordaeron Arena. The patch also offers the inclusion of two new Mac specific game settings for frame rates.

Here's a brief list of changes in the new patch:

• The Black Temple is now available for play and Illidan awaits. Are you prepared?
• Skettis is now available. Players will need a flying mount to reach this new area.
• Nether Drakes are now in the game and can be gained by continuing the Netherwing faction and quest line.
• Ogri'la is now available. Level 70 players can find this new quest line in Blade's Edge Mountains.
• Added 'maxfps' game variable, when set to a non-zero value it will limit the game's frame rate when the game is the frontmost application or full screen. Also added 'maxfpsbk' game variable, when set to a non-zero value it will limit the game's frame rate when the game is not in the foreground. Each of these variables can be left set to '0' which disables them, or an integer value representing the desired frame rate limit.

StarCraft 2 Previewed
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Action Trip has posted a new preview of Blizzard Entertainment's Starcraft 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to one of the most successful RTS titles of all time. The preview examines what is currently known about the game's units, storyline, and gameplay.

One of the first things Blizzard confirmed at the press conference in Korea is that StarCraft 2 has been in the works since the company released Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne in 2003. Since then, the developers were carefully tweaking and improving upon the game, waiting for the opportune moment. And, as everyone knows, they were also busy with developing and maintaining World of Warcraft (but with a separate, dedicated team).

The single-player campaign in SC 2 features a completely new chapter in the StarCraft storyline, taking place exactly four years after the events of the Starcraft expansion pack - Brood War. As the main story unfolds, you'll get to experience the game through the perspectives of three factions: Terrans (the humans), the swarming alien race called the Zerg and the mysterious Protoss...

While they are meticulously designing every aspect of gameplay, the developers are also striving to convey an epic atmosphere, allowing for huge battles and large skirmishes with as many as 300 units onscreen at once.

Apple has added a new game to the iTunes Store, a title based on the television show Lost. Developed by Gameloft, and available for fifth generation ipods, Lost puts players in the role of Jack who must explore the island and interact with other characters from the series.

In the “Lost” game, you play as Jack, and interact with other characters including Kate, Lock and Sayid as you explore the island’s main sites — including the beach, jungle, inside the Hatch and the Black Rock. You relive events such as the crash scene, running from the black smoke and meeting the Others.

“Lost” is the first Gameloft-branded game to appear on the iTunes Store. Gameloft is a major international publisher of video games for mobile phones. The company has partnership agreements with game publishers, movie studios and other companies.
The new Lost game costs $4.99. Check out the Playlist page below for more information.
