IMG Reviews DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold 12:43 PM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
IMG has posted a review of DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold, the latest game from Caravel Games. Here's a clip from the review: Gaming in DROD is old school to the core. The action is top-down and movement is both grid and turn-based. Navigating using the keyboard, the gamer guides Beethro through rooms that are puzzlers disguised as combat scenarios with herds of nasty creatures. The game is turn-based, but not in the standard Final Fantasy-RPG style. It works this way: Beethro gets a chance to move, then ALL the bad guys move at once. While that may make things sound pretty much impossible, all the enemies have different rules to define their movements. I won't divulge too much of that info because the way many of the enemies move are puzzles in and of themselves, but some enemies will follow you no matter how you move, some will only move if you trigger their sight and some have trouble following certain types of movement. Combine keeping track of all that with endless room puzzles and DROD is one heck of a challenge. Check out the entire review by following the link below.

Relic Items in Upcoming WoW v1.10 7:24 AM | Evan Holt | 7 comments
In addition to weather being added in the upcoming World of Warcraft 1.10 patch, there are going to be some other exciting new changes. As posted by Blizzard in their forums... We're in the process of implementing a relic slot for the Paladin, Shaman and Druid. Ideally, this will be live upon the release of patch 1.10. Basically, this slot will allow these three classes to equip a relic item, since currently these classes are unable to reap the statistical benefits associated with equiping a ranged weapon...and we're tired of seeing you run around with Egan's Blaster. ;)
For example... Druid Idol of Rejuvination Relic Requires level 57 Equip: Increases the healing per 3 seconds on your Rejuvenation by up to 10 Shaman Totem of Rebirth Relic Requires level 57 Equip: Reduces the cooldown of your Reincarnation ability by 10 minutes. Paladin Libram of Hope Relic Requires level 57 Equip: Reduces the mana cost of your Seal spells by 20 Exciting news indeed for the classes with limited range attacks. Pac The Man X Reviewed 7:24 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Macworld's Game Room is featuring a review of Pac the Man X, McSebi's freeware homage to the classic ghost evading pellet gobbler. While not a direct copy of the original, PtMX follows the same theme. The game features support for the latest macs, a variety of levels, and a multiplayer mode allowing two players on one Mac. The Game Room gave Pac the Man X 4.5 mice out of 5. From the review: Thanks to an updated OpenGL graphics engine, the game’s animation effects are silky smooth and much improved. There are also stereo sound effects and multiple music themes; you can set the themes to play randomly or just choose the ones you like. The latest version of the game (1.0.2) is Universal, so it should run well on a new iMac or MacBook Pro. But you don’t need the latest hardware to play. The game requires a 500MHz G3 or faster Mac with an OpenGL-compatible graphics system and at least 16MB of VRAM. A level editor is available for download from Stone Design. The game can be downloaded from Macgamefiles.com.To read the entire review click on the link below.
