IMG Reviews Zuma Deluxe 1:28 PM | IMG News | Comment on this story
IMG has today posted a review of Zuma Deluxe, the new arcade puzzler published by MacPlay. Here's a quote from the article: In fact, Zuma barely falls into the category of "puzzle game" at all. It's much more of a fast-action arcade-style game with a good deal of strategy and skill thrown into the mix. It's sufficiently simple that there's virtually no learning involved, yet it's complex enough to be interesting and compelling. It's the kind of game you can pick up and play right away, and should be equally appealing to all ages. For more on Zuma Deluxe, head over to IMG's review now.

Fable: The Lost Chapters Reviews 7:33 AM | Anthony Wang | 2 comments
Here comes two sets of reviews on Fable: The Lost Chapters from CVG and NLGaming. Both reviews discuss the storyline, controls, graphics, and much more. In addition, each review has screenshots and extra content. Here is a selected excerpt from the CVG review: Lionhead has always been one to try something a bit new and Fable's no different, starting you off as a wee nipper and taking you all the way through your character's life, right through to the pension and 'Just For Men' at the end. Over time, your actions will start to impact upon your character's appearance. Enjoy picking fights and stealing stuff? Then watch as your character's skin turns pale, horns start to protrude from your forehead and flies gather around your napper. Prefer helping out the locals? Then your skin will start to glow, you'll get a halo and faint butterflies will encircle you. This is just the beginning as well, with tattoos and different hair, moustache and beard styles all on offer to help you customise your ultimate badass/goody-two-shoes style. Fable: The Lost Chapters is debuting for the Macintosh this fall thanks to Feral Interactive. Please follow the links below to read both reviews and to learn more information.

First Neverwinter Nights 2 Screens Hit The Net 6:37 AM | Cord Kruse | 12 comments
French website NWN2.fr has posted some "unofficial" color screenshots of the upcoming Neverwinter Nights 2 from Obsidian and Atari. The original black and white versions of these screens are found in the manual for the recently released Dragonshard game. While the screenshots are apparently legitimate they were posted without official permission. Obsidian programmer Anthony Davis noted on the NWN 2 forums that the screenshots are no longer representative of the game. To be completely honest, the game doesn't even LOOK like those screens anymore. In the current build of the game we have stars, skys with moving clouds, celestial bodies that rise and set, fog that moves in and out depending on the time of day, fogs of different colors, and much more. More up to date screenshots will be released in the December version of PC Gamer magazine. There is, as of yet, no official word on the possibility of a Mac version of the game. To check out the screenshots for yourself follow the link below.

Stubbs the Zombie Q&A 6:37 AM | Anthony Wang | 1 comment
Gamasutra recently interviewed Wideload Games founder, Alex Seropian. Before the interview begins there is a brief overview of his company and their upcoming game, Stubbs the Zombie: In Rebel Without a Pulse. In this interview, they cover the development area of the game such as the strenghts and limitations of the Halo engine to developing on three platforms simultaneously. Here is a selected excerpt from the interview: Gamasutra: It's atypical for a game to be released for the Mac simultaneously with a PC and, especially, a console version. Was this quite a technical feat to pull off? Does this have anything to do with the fact that the Halo engine evolved over a long period of time across the Mac, PC and Xbox? AS: Having an engine that has already shipped on all three of those platforms certainly helped, as did having a partner in Aspyr Media, a company that has lots of experience with Mac and PC development. We also spent a lot of time early on getting our codebase operational on all three platforms. Please follow the links below to read the entire article and to learn more information.

Stubbs the Zombie Preview 6:37 AM | Anthony Wang | Comment on this story
With the release of Stubbs the Zombie just days away, GameInformer has posted a preview of the game. The preview covers the specific gameplay elements including vehicles, controllable humans, and brains! Here is a selected excerpt from the preview: Outside of being a zombie’s delight, eating brains has a number of functions. Brains obviously refill your health meter (as does sitting idle for a while without getting attacked), but also fills a number of other meters that allow for Stubbs' more advanced attacks. The first attack is the fart bomb. By pressing B when the meter is full makes Stubbs squat down to pinch out a nasty fart. Farts stun the enemies in a general radius of Stubbs which allows for quick and easy brain feasts. When enemies are further away, you can... Even though this is an Xbox review, this preview highlights the gameplay on any of the platforms. If you really need to know, just ignore the Co-Op preview and the mentioning of controller buttons. Everything else should be in tune or similar with the Macintosh version. Please follow the links below to read the entire preview and to learn more information.

Myst V Reviewed 6:37 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
PC Gamezone is the latest to review Myst V: End of Ages, the finale to the popular Myst series. Like its previous incarnations Myst V immerses the player in a vibrant world filled with mind bending puzzles and a slowly unfolding plot. Gamezone reports that the puzzles in Myst V are worthy of the series and will require more than a single play session to solve. The puzzles in Myst V span the range of trivial trials to major conundrums. Players won’t be able to solve the entire game in a single session. Myst V: End of Ages requires patience and ingenuity. Some of the puzzles are more time-consuming to solve than others, but each of them can be solved. Sometimes it is important to bear this in mind, along with the concept of keeping it simple. At times the least complicated solution is the right one. The puzzles come in many forms as well as many difficulties. There are logic puzzles, puzzles that must be completed in a set amount of time, and puzzles that challenge the player’s ability to solve three-dimensional mazes. Like its predecessors, Myst V is a journey of fun and excitement. The puzzles whet a player’s appetite for the additional tidbits of story, plot, and history that litter the game like precious gems hidden in a cluttered home. Myst V managed an 8.4 out of 10 from PC Gamezone. To read the full review and check out a few screenshots follow the link below.

System 7 On A PSP? 6:37 AM | Cord Kruse | 15 comments
Mac Joystiq is reporting that an intrepid hacker has managed to boot OS 7 on a Sony PSP. Total time to load up the system is said to be near four hours. From Mac Joystiq: This one’s for the masochists in the house — hacker Neisha Stadelhofer documents how to boot up the venerable old (well, maybe not so venerable but certainly old) Macintosh System 7 on the PSP via the Bochs emulator, running vMac in FreeDOS (”yes, an x86 emulator running a 680x0 emulator on a handheld gaming console”). Check out Mac Joystiq at the link below.
