Mac Patch for Darwinia Coming Soon
8:00 AM | Franklin Pride | Comment on this story

The latest patch for Darwinia has been released for PC, bringing the game to version 1.2 and adding a number of important bug fixes. According to the official site, the patch for the Macintosh version will be "coming soon." This patch fixes many game bugs including:

A very subtle bug that would cause errors to occur (including crashes) if a Darwinian was running away from a grenade. Very rare occurance, more likely during intense battles with lots of Darwinians and lots of grenades.

A crash during the end sequence (caused by a corrupted saved Ant Hill). This crash would also cause the levels 'Yard' and 'Receiver' to crash occasionally on re-entry.

IMG Posts Inside Macintosh Shareware - April 2005
12:58 PM | Jesse Brauning | Comment on this story

Just in time for the end of the month, IMG has posted its newest review of shareware for the Mac. Four games get the run-down. They are Super DX-Ball Deluxe, Space Strike, Bubblomania X, and 2 Minute Football 3D. Here's some of the highlights:

...the only thing that I wish DX-Ball had was a level editor so that I could make my own levels...

...[Space Strike] overall left me with a bland feeling of "Meh," there was one thing that was truly annoying, and that was the power-ups...

...Beyond all the psychedelic colors, however, Bubblomania did not particularly appeal to me...

...2 Minute Football 3D is aimed squarely at those gamers whose attention span lasts about as long as an episode of "Friends"...

So get educated about the latest and (sometimes) greatest in Macintosh shareware. What are you waiting for? The link is below.

Custer Tames Tiger
8:00 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story

With the upcoming release of MacOS X 10.4 Tiger from Apple this evening, Brad Custer have created a new Tiger themed desktop wallpaper for you all to enjoy.

Brad comments on his creation:

Well, unless you've been under a rock, then you know that Tiger will be unleashed today. I wanted to celebrate the release of this OS and since it just happened to fall on my Friday update then the timing was perfect. Today at 6 P.M. I will be joining most of you in a store trying to obtain my own copy of this OS. :) So, with the help of Apple and their PR department, I was able to create this week's wallpaper.

Two WoW Servers Released
8:00 AM | Franklin Pride | Comment on this story

Recently, Blizzard opened two more World of Warcraft realms to explore. The servers, named Gurubashi (PvP) and Skywall (PvE). These should help those complaining about the Honor System, as the problems with it are all about the servers being full of people at level 60. With a new server, everyone should have a chance to make a new start.

If you've always wanted to try a new class but never got around to it, now's your chance.

In other news, the World of Warcraft site now has a new "Raid Areas Page." A direct link to the new page is in the links section.
