Call of Duty, United Offensive updated
8:51 AM | Marcus Albers | Comment on this story

Aspyr Media has released updates for both Call of Duty, and its expansion United Offensive.

The patch for Call of Duty brings the version to 1.5b, and will only work if you have version 1.5 installed. Those with versions 1.3 or 1.4 can still download the 1.5 updater. The update brings the following fixes:

• Fixed miscellaneous level loading issues that occur with the 1.5 and 1.5.1 patches.
• Fixed downloading from multiplayer servers which had a redirect in the URL. Please ensure that downloading is allowed in the Multiplayer Options to use this feature.
The United Offensive patch brings its version to 1.5.1b and brings the above fixes to the expansion. You must be running at least version 1.5.1 of the United Offensive expansion to apply the new patch.

More WoW Server Transfers
10:13 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

Blizzard has recently opened more servers for those waiting for the opportunity to transfer their characters to less crowded realms. The current list of servers eligibile for transfer as well as their allowed destinations are as follows:

We have opened transfers for two more realms today. The two new realms are Blackrock to Daggerspine, and Stormreaver to Stormscale. That brings the current total characters transfers running to: Arthas to Nathrezim, Warsong to Bonechewer, Bleeding Hollow to Crushridge, Illidan to Stonemaul, Blackrock to Daggerspine, and Stormreaver to Stormscale.
Players interested in server transfers are also encouraged to read Blizzard's FAQ on the subject, which makes points such as the transfers being one-way, as well as their consideration of giving players the option of moving to a server of their choice sometime in the future.

In related news, Blizzard has reiterated their harassment policy concerning the posting of the personal information of other players on the forums or in game. They stress that offenders will be given one warning, and note that bans have already been issued for those who did not heed the warning.

Shadowbane Stat, UI Enhancements
8:51 AM | Marcus Albers | Comment on this story

Ubi Soft has posted a couple of news headlines on the Shadowbane website. The items deal with the future development of the game.

The first headline deals with refinement of the stats for Shadowbane. The developers elaborate more on the system:

Allowing players to modify their attributes has been one of the most requested features from the community since the game's launch. The main goal behind Character Stat Refinement is to prevent players from having to restart their characters due to real or perceived mistakes in allocating Stat Points. The existing Refiner hireling will gain this ability.
The second headline deals with develpments in the user interface, specifically the Hotbar:
A new window will be added to the interface called a Hotbar. This window will hold any power or ability that a player can place for quick activation and/or reference. Any Power, ability, or usable item that can be hotkeyed will be able to be placed in the Hotbar.

Macologist has posted a new mod for Call of Duty, the popular multiplayer WWII first-person shooter. The mod, called SWAT, is a modern weapons total conversion for the multiplayer component of Call of Duty.

This new version, public beta version 0.3, adds a number of new features to the SWAT mod:

This mod is quite impressive and the new version adds some great new features, such as night vision/flashlight, flash/gas grenades, and sprinting. This mod is definitely worth checking out, if for nothing less than just to see it's cool new features.

Chris P, the master-mind behind the Merciless mod, scripted a new sprint option, which is just amazing, night vision is also a new feature. There are also a collection of new maps that add to the mods over-all gameplay.
