IMG Reviews Tournament Poker
11:43 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

IMG has posted a review of Tournament Poker: No Limits Texas Hold'em. Here's a clip from the review written by Mark Sabbatini:

Itís a near certainty poker experts will recommend this program to novices wanting to learn the game. Just remember the advice comes from the competition. As the saying goes, if you donít know who the fish is at the table, itís you.

Not that D.D. Tournament Poker by Donahoe Digital is bad. Itís a competent Texas Hold íEm simulator in a small Mac field and enjoyable enough to justify its $25 price, although competing programs are a better bet for many. What pros relish is newbies rushing out to buy poker software, especially consumer titles like this, hoping to become a winner at the tables. Itís as close to guaranteed money as veterans get.

Airburst Extreme Music Now On CD
9:36 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

Abdoujaparov, the band that wrote and performed the track Pop Pop Pop on Airburst Extreme, have released a new EP which includes a new mix of Pop Pop Pop as one of the tracks.

To check out previews of the new mix of Pop Pop Pop and other great Abdoujaparov songs, head over to their official site.

Due to a minor glitch on the original version of Airburst Extreme, Pop Pop Pop ended up playing nearly all the time in the game, so most Airburst Extreme players will probably still have the original version of the song popping around in their heads. The update to Airburst Extreme that helps restore your sanity can be downloaded from the Strange Flavour website

Torque Engine Adds Flash Support
8:14 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

Looking to shake things up a bit on the ever-growing Torque engine, a new GUI component that embeds a Flash player has been added to the platform. Based on GameSWF, the component includes support for most Flash 6 and a few Flah 7 features, and will allow users to apply these to menus, GUIs, and in-game movies.

Thomas "Man of Ice" Lund and Brian Richardson have been working hard on getting Flash working within Torque. The new Flash GUI component has support for animations, text and most flash 6 things as well as some features in flash 7. Game developers will now be able to use Flash to spice up menus, add extra eye candy to GUIs and create interesting intros and cut-scenes.
A resource allowing users to add this component has been put up at the Resources page at the GarageGames site. Those who wish to see a demo can also download a sample movie.
