Major World of Warcraft Beta Patch Released
7:45 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story

Blizzard has released a major new patch for those private beta testers currently playing World of Warcraft. The update adds a number of features and tweaks sought after by players, including auction houses and click-to-move interface changes.

The new auction houses work much like a standard Ebay transaction. Each major city has an auctioneer who takes items from players at a specified price and duration, with winning items then being sent via the game's mail system.

Players can also choose to use the mouse to move around the world much more now, via a click-to-move option in the preferences. Also, Blizzard has added a time delay to PvP respawns and again tweaked the controversial Rest State system. Now most players will play as "normal" instead of "rested."

Here's an explanation why:

The changes to the Rest State have been made with the understanding that most players will be in the Normal experience tier most of the time. The Rested tier is primarily intended for players that take a day or more off from playing or are very casual with their play schedules. This has enabled us to greatly reduce the experience necessary for all players to level regardless of which rest state tier they play under.
