IMG Posts Hand-On XIII Preview
12:57 PM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

IMG has posted a hands-on preview of Feral's upcoming first-person shooter, XIII. IMG's John Hood recently took a beta of the game for a spin and reports his findings in the preview. Here's a clip:

The President of the United States has been assassinated, and everyone (most notably large guys with guns) possesses a compelling argument that you did it - even you're not sure! As the story unfolds, you'll learn more about your mysterious past, discovering that you are number XIII (shades of Patrick McGoohan's seminal TV series The Prisoner) of The Twenty, a mysterious shadow organization, the group that perpetually want to see you dead - there's no chance to discuss 'issues' over cappuccino in a virtual Starbucks. Your eventual goal will be to clear your name of all charges (if only you could remember your name…), and get to the bottom of the conspiracy.

Puyo Puyo Fever Hits Mac OS X
9:44 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

Sega Japan has announced plans to bring Puyo Puyo Fever to the Macintosh. The game is scheduled to be released on June 24th and will be available in two versions: one with just the game itself and another including the game and a special Saturn-type USB controller.

Puyo Puyo was first released in 1992 and since then has seen several popular sequels. Here's a bit more info on Puyo Puyo Fever:

From the highly popular Japanese puzzle game Puyo POP comes Puyo POP Fever for a new generation of console gamers, retaining the addictive qualities of its predecessors to the core. Simplistic and extremely good fun, the game features single player and, highly entertaining, 'can't put the controller down', multiplayer options, captured by a mix of 2D and 3D elements. The additional fever mode adds a slightly different twist to the gameplay, providing opportunity to create a string of chain reactions that will annihilate your opponent if executed correctly. There are all manner of unusual special effects onscreen as the action speeds up, combined with a colourful, 'anime' graphical feel which complements the simplistic nature of the gameplay perfectly. Puyo POP is pure Japanese cult that delivers a 'must have' multiplayer game for all ages…Puzzlingly Addictive!
At this point in time, it looks as though Puyo Puyo Fever will be available in Japan and other far east countries only. There's been no indication that Sega of America will be bringing Puyo Puyo Fever to the United States. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments.
