11:26 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

Feral Interactive has released a demo of Ghost Master. The game is described as a strategy game with a difference – it turns the typical ghost story on its head. It lets you control a number of ghosts, gremlins and spectres, with one goal in mind – scaring humans.

Ghost Master allows you to control a large variety of spooks each with a different character. Use a huge range of ghosts and scary powers to complete your goals. Recruit new ghostly allies, as you try to build the ultimate spook squad The more you progress in the game, the more powerful they will become. The number of ghosts, secrets, and puzzles will make every experience of Ghost Master unique.

On location with the spooks
Set in the town of Gravenville, there are 15 scenarios in the full version, played in 11 fully 3-D environments, locations including the local police station, ‘haunted’ house, lunatic asylum and hospital. The more the game is played, the more locations will be revealed, along with new ghosts to command.

Movie Magic
Relive all your favourite horror film moments as you marshal your ghostly minions in a range of diverse locations. Scare your way through more than a dozen hair-raising humour filled scenarios from Weird Séance to the Unusual Suspects.

The system requirements are as follows:

• 700 MHz G3/G4
• 128 MB RAM (OS 9)

Apple Features Ghost Master
7:20 AM | Trevor Buchanan | Comment on this story

Apple has divined yet another game feature for us. This time they have focused their attention on the unusual puzzler Ghost Master published by Feral Interactive. Here's a brief excerpt of what the feature had to say:

In a spooky twist Feral Interactive’s Ghost Master puts you in charge of your own creepy tales. Command a legion of ghosts and send them off to frighten mortals. Direct them to complete certain tasks with their scary powers and free imprisoned ghosts who join your forces. Amass gold plasm points you can use to enhance your ghosts’ abilities before tackling tougher challenges.
Buy the game on Halloween, and let's just hope for the best.
Feral elaborates:
You can watch the mortals as they go about their daily lives, driven by artificial intelligence that makes them act according to their natural tendencies, which you can read about in their onscreen bios.

Custer's Desktops: Sims Superstar
7:20 AM | Johan Hansén | Comment on this story

IMG's own wallpaper wizard Brad Custer has looked deeper into the life of a star to create his latest desktop wallpaper. The desktop features motif from The Sims: Superstar, the new expansion for The Sims from Aspyr Media.

Brad elaborates:

The recent announcement that The Sims: Superstar was in duplication has made a desktop from this game a popular request. It's been pretty hard to obtain artwork for any Sims title so the pressure was on. But, with the help of Aspyr Media and my new source for Sims artwork, I was able to create this week's wallpaper. I simply entitled it "Stardom" and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. :)
To download the wallpaper, head over to Custer's Desktops and select your size for download.

Ubi Brings 'In Memoriam' to Mac
7:20 AM | Alvaro Radigales | Comment on this story

In a recent announcement game developer and publisher Ubi Soft revealed that a Mac port of the crime investigation thriller In Memoriam is in the works. At first, the title might look like your average movie clip-based whodunit, but the gameplay seems to drift a little bit from the standard of the genre:

While investigating a series of bizarre murders committed throughout the length and breadth of Europe, the journalist Jack Lorski vanishes with his young female companion.

Afew weeks after Jack’s disappearance, the agency he works for receives a CD-Rom featuring fragments of the filmed log book he kept, along with a mixture of strange data. The agency decides to publish the CD-Rom. It’s the only clue that might help them find the missing journalist.

The CD-Rom is designed like a game and was created by a kind of crazy esthete who, though cultivated, seems devoid of any moral sense. The killer goes by the name of “The Phoenix”. He toys with the player, steering him this way and that, feeding clues in dribs and drabs which lead back into the past to shed light on the mystery.

While this CD is indeed the base of the game content, the player must rummage around for clues in more than 300 actual web sites linked to the plot, and will even receive e-mail messages from some of the game characters providing further information for the investigation to continue.

If you want to investigate In Memoriam" further, may I suggest the official game web site, linked below, as good place to find your first clues.
