Blizzard to Make New Title Announcement
7:54 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

An article recently posted at Blue's News notes a forthcoming announcement by gamemaker Blizzard Entertainment concerning their next project. The announcement, which is scheduled to take place on September 20th at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS), is said to feature back-to-back press conferences.

To add a slant to the mix, Blue's News notes that the TGS is primarily focused on the console market, rather than the computer. This is not to say that computer offerings have not been made at TGS - it's just fuel for speculation.

Due in no small part to its string of megahit titles, including Warcraft III and Starcraft, no doubt gamers across the globe are already lighting up forum threads regarding the impending announcement. Those interested in more details can find them, along with a forum thread on the topic, at Blue's News.

7:54 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

Ken Winograd of Space-Time Associates, maker of various shareware games for both Mac and PC, has released a Carbonized version of Brickles3000 v2.0 for the Mac. For those unfamiliar with the title, it is a breakout-style game that features a host of adjustable features:

Brickles3000 is not your typical 'ball and paddle' game. Brickles3000 features adjustable colors and patterns, adjustable ball and paddle sizes, adjustable speed and window sizes. Even the number of paddles in the game can be changed. Brickles3000 is suitable for everyone from the very youngest children learning to use a mouse, to fast-paced arcade fans.
This version, which boasts improved playability and other cosmetic improvements, simply requires a PPC Mac and a screen resolution of 800x600 or more. Those interested in trying it out can download a free demo at the Space-Time Associates site.
