Master Criminal.

Payback is a great game from Freeverse Software, Apex Designs and Virtual Programming Ltd. If you'd always wondered what it would be like to be a master criminal, then Payback is the game for you. It's entirely non-linear - to complete a level you simply have to obtain a certain number of points - how you get those points is entirely up to you; you can do what the local kingpin tells you, uncover secret missions or just go on a mad killing spree. There are lots of hidden surprises to discover, so you'll have to play the game through several times to find all the extras.

As you have probably guessed, Payback is inspired by Grand Theft Auto, but every effort has been made to ensure that it beats GTA in every way. The game engine supports perspective correct texture mapping, environment mapping (reflections), distortion mapping, realistic shadows, alpha-channelling (lens flares, explosions and shockwaves), 12 channel 3D sound and realistic physics. It has also been translated into many languages.

It's time to tap into the criminal in you. ;)

This week it was up to me to pick the title I wanted to create a desktop for so I started to search through my archive of art and I came across the logo for Payback. This title was released by Freeverse Software a little bit ago and I figured it deserved a nice wallpaper to honor it. I had fun creating this desktop and the sky was the limit since I really only had a logo to go by. It's entitled "Grand Theft Auto" to honor it's inspiration and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. :)

Everyone be sure to keep those requests coming in.

Until then...
