A huge combo-list has been rolling around the undergrounds lately, and looks like GOG got hit by it, because they have been sending out notices to accounts that they will be employing this new 2-auth system on the 24th.
A similar list has been slammed against the WinGameStore this weekend, and as well in light of these monster combo-lists, WGS too is going to employ 2-auth systems in response.
Its a typical response when some hacker group decides to throw a million login attempts at your website with a combo list they stole from somewhere else. So no surprised that more stores will be requiring these secondary 'code entry on login' means. It works, and so long as you maintain a valid email address on your account, you have nothing to worry about by its addition.
We won't be adding that to these IPB forums here on IMG though, because this is just one of those run-of-the-mill forum sites. Just don't use the same password here that you use for like paypal.
The most important Take-Away from this is not "omg! the sky is falling they got hacked!" ... its "omg! I should REALLY NOT use the same password everywhere!"
