Which MMPORPG are you looking forward to most?
Posted by: XxtraLarGe - 11-20-2002, 03:25 PM - Forum: Off-Topic - Replies (1)

I know, another ON TOPIC in the OFF TOPIC. And I realize that NWN isn't necessarily a MMPORPG, but it is close enough.

Will you buy Neverwinter Nights without the toolset?
Posted by: XxtraLarGe - 11-20-2002, 03:21 PM - Forum: Off-Topic - Replies (11)

Without this, the game doesn't seem nearly as appealing.

Isn't it ironic? This post is actually ON TOPIC, but the only place I can make a poll appears to be in the OFF TOPIC forum :-D

  New Genre Forums?
Posted by: Tuncer (IMG) - 11-12-2002, 12:01 PM - Forum: General - Replies (33)

We've been toying with the idea of creating genre-specific forums. It seems like the General forum is becoming extremely popular and maybe it's time to create more foums. For example, we could have Action, RPG, Arcade, Simulations, Sports, Strategy & War, etc.

Let's have a vote to see what ya'll think.

Are you actually going to buy The Sims: Vacation?
Posted by: Dave - 06-25-2002, 12:11 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

Does anyone else think these series of games is getting a little old? I know it's easy to port, but who is really interested in this game? I only bought the SIms and its first expansion pack, after that it got really old, the only real difference in the expansion was new objects, houses, people, etc. nothing really changing the gameplay that dramatically. Anyway, a simple yes or no would be nice.

P.S. I would like this to be a poll, options: yes or no.

I've seen multiple comments in the past with people complaining about there being too many shooters ported. And, being the overly-curious guy I am, I was wondering what genre you tend to like/play the most?

(If I missed a genre, let me know and I'll add an option)

Poll: NeverWinter Nights or Warcraft 3?
Posted by: XxtraLarGe - 06-12-2002, 12:15 PM - Forum: General - Replies (15)

If you had to choose, which one would you get? Please don't post both or neither, I'm only interested in finding out which one Mac gamers interested in both games want MORE.

PowerLogix Intros 750 MHz to 1 GHz G4 Upgrades! Interested?
Posted by: Lucian - 06-12-2002, 04:30 AM - Forum: General - Replies (30)

As you may or may not have heard, PowerLogix recently announced G4 upgrades for AGP Macs from 750 MHz all the way up to 1 GHz. The prices will range from $450 to $750.

I haven't looked at CPU upgrades seriously because they weren't worth considering. Now, with such a huge leap in speed, they might be worth looking at. I understand it might not be completely gaming related, but I get the feeling that you guys are often looking at ways to upgrade your Macs.

I understand that $450 is quite a chunk of change to drop on a CPU upgrade, but if you're stuck at 350 MHz for the moment, it might be a good way to prolong the life of your machine.

In any case, if you'd like to see us review these CPU upgrades, vote "yay". Otherwise, vote "nay". Of course, no guarantee that we'll actually be able to get review units. =)

Another quick survey: Age and machine
Posted by: E - 05-26-2002, 02:59 PM - Forum: General - Replies (102)

No its not the age of the machine that Im after.

In the other survey thread there was a remark questioning how representative the answers was.

Quote:Too bad, I wonder how representative this crowd really is though? I'm guessing most of the people here are youngish and more interested in fast paced shoot-em-ups as would be expected.

This made me somewhat curious as to what the age of the posters actually is and if it has any impact on the kind of games we play. Im also curious as to what kind of computer you use, especially in the light of the recent increase in recommended specs for several games. I also remember from a thread about Apple ditching OS 9 support that alot of people use OSX almost exclusively now. Are we early adopters or is it that since we are relatively serious gamers (asfar as mac users go) we upgrade our hardware (and software?) on a more regular basis than a normal user?

So I guess Ill start, Im 24 and use a G4 450 Mhz with the stock rage128pro.

  Attack of the Clones
Posted by: Tuncer (IMG) - 05-16-2002, 06:33 PM - Forum: General - Replies (42)

So, now that Attack of the Clones is out, let's hear it. Was it cool? Better than episode 1? Please, no spoilers!

Tuncer

PS. I'm seeing it Friday, so I have no opinion yet :)
