A similar trend can be seen in the Halo benchmarks. The GeForce 6800 Ultra is able to keep pace with the Radeon X800 XT, but when FSAA is applied, it falls behind by more than 40%.
With Halo's advanced pixel shaders enabled, which creates higher quality visuals, the results are the same. The Radeon X800 XT performance actually increases slightly at low resolution when this option is selected, presumably because the GPU is doing more of the heavy lifting.
Splinter Cell was one of the few benchmarks where the GeForce 6800 Ultra was able to claim victory, but only by a slight margin. FSAA testing was not conducted due to an application bug that causes severe slowdowns when it is enabled.
