Conclusions: The Power Mac G4 Dual 867 is a beautiful machine. Even as the slowest Power Mac available, it's able to handle just about everything I can throw at it with ease. Games run great, and a nice selection of video cards are available for you to choose from, depending on your needs and budget. If I had my choice, I would probably pick the Radeon 9000 as a nice middle-of-the-road video card. It provides good performance at a great price point, and it has a full feature set which includes FSAA support in a number of games. For gamers who can really afford to splurge, the GeForce4 Ti may be worth the extra $350 over the Radeon 9000. It is able to stand up to even the toughest titles like Jedi Knight II and Soldier of Fortune without any trouble, and the current FSAA issues are likely to be worked out in short time. Keep in mind that ATI will have the Mac version of their Radeon 9700 out soon, so it may be worth it to hold off on this large purchase until those two models can be compared. If you have a fairly recent G4, the Dual 867 may not be a large enough difference for you to want to make the upgrade. But if you're one of those folks who wants to make the leap into dual G4 goodness without a $3,000+ price tag, the Power Mac Dual 867 might be just what you're looking for. Pros: • Fast, dual processors • Eye-catching hardware, both inside and out • Study design • Great game performance, especially in SMP-aware titles • Lots of MHz for your moneyCons: • Noisy fans may require putting Power Mac on the floor • Only two USB ports on tower
