Widscreen games settings

A guide providing a little help for people who, like me, bought a widescreen display, and want their games to fill the entire screen for maximum effect.
I gladly accept submissions on how to set widescreen resolution, in games I have not covered here, but please PM me in the IMG forum, not write notes at the bottom of this blog, as I rarely check it :)

Be sure to read notes at the bottom.

Notes:
This guide only covers games that keep original aspect ratio settings.
Many of the games mentioned as being not supportive, CAN fill the entire screen (eliminating black bars) but the objects would appear to be streched, round objects would appear to be oval etc.
This is usually done though the game menu system, or the Display Preferences found in System Preferences.

Some games contain 2D graphics on top of the 3D world, and the may appear to be streched (scopes, compasess etc. in Call Of Duty for instance) but the 3D landscape should still be acurate.

Be also aware that most games to not contain a interface for widescreen monitors, and the game's interface may either strech, or take up only the "usual" part of the screen.
