The game designer for Door Kickers, an upcoming SWAT team strategy game from indie developer KillHouse Games, recently emailed IMG with some details about the new title. Featuring a top down perspective Door Kickers puts the players in charge of planning routes, choosing equipment, coordinating movements, and executing the plan to save the hostages.
Whats Door Kickers like?Door Kickers is due in late 2013 on PC (Win/Mac/Linux), with iOS/Android following as soon as possible. KillHouse is funding the game via crowdfunding on its website, with backers receiving instant access to current builds of the title for Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Analyze the situation, plan team routes, choose equipment and breach points and coordinate multiple troopers to reach the hostage room before the bad guys get to press that trigger.
Its all about timing, coordination, breaching charges, flashbangs, hostages with a gun to their head, and precision shots that save the day - but this time in a top down perspective, and you’re the mastermind.
Key Points of Door Kickers:
- 2d, top down, easy to understand
- Real Time with Free Pause
- No turns, no hexes, no action points or awkward interfaces
- Realistic but action packed
- Non-linear levels, freeform gameplay
- Mission editor and modability
- Unlimited gameplay via mission and campaign generators
- Single Player (but MP might come later)
