Vendetta Online Goes Greenlight 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Guild Software has announced the beginning of a Greenlight campaign to put its long-running space MMORPG on Steam's digital download service. If successful Guild intends to make the game available through Steam to Mac, Windows, and Linux PC users. Vendetta Online is a long-running, first & third-person 3D space combat MMORPG for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and WinRT. This MMO permits thousands of players to interact as the pilots of spaceships in a vast universe. Users may build their characters in any direction they desire, becoming rich captains of industry, military heroes, or outlaws. A fast-paced, realtime "twitch" style combat model, along with realistic physics, creates intense action against the backdrop of RPG gameplay in a massive online galaxy. Three major player factions form a delicate balance of power, with several NPC sub-factions creating situations of economic struggle, political intrigue and conflict. The completely persistent universe and detailed storyline add to the depth of immersion, resulting in a unique online experience. What would come with Vendetta Online for Steam? We would integrate support for our 100% native Windows, Mac and Linux versions (since 2002, we're one of the longest-supporting, completely-native Linux games). We'd also like to integrate Steamworks features, including use of friend-finding features and showing our many existing Achievements. Steam sales structure will be up to a discussion with Valve; but it's easy for us to allow players to pre-puchase blocks of time. Guild is also currently running a Kickstarter to support further game enhancements along with an iPad version of Vendetta Online.
