Battlefront.com recently announced the release of a 2.0 upgrade for its World War II combat sim, Combat Miession: Battle For Normandy. The 2.0 Upgrade converts an existing 1.0 version of the game, as well as any installed modules, to the new CMx2 v2.00 features first seen in Combat Mission: Fortress Italy.

The 2.0 Upgrade for Battle for Normandy converts and upgrades your existing game (and any installed modules) automagically to include the advanced CMx2 v2.00 game features! This includes features you may already love and enjoy in Combat Mission: Fortress Italy, but also a new exclusive feature allowing scenario designers to hand-pick specific uniforms on a unit by unit basis! The v2.0 Upgrade is not a standalone game. You need to own the base game, Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy, in order to play. The 2.0 Upgrade is not a patch. It adds exciting new features to your game. It's available for download, mail order or both starting at just $10 (plus Shipping & Handling if applicable). The "mail order" or "download & mail" versions include the printed v2.0 Game Engine Manual (112 pages). If you already have CM:Fortress Italy, then you already have this manual. The physical goods ship exclusively from our US location, local import taxes, surcharges and customs fees may apply.

Lastly, the Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy v1.0 base game remains available at a special sale price of $35. A new full package upgraded to v2.0 will be made available shortly at the regular price, and v1.0 eventually phased out entirely.
