Aspyr Media's Game Agent Blog recently posted a new article exploring the issue of crowdfunding for games through sites like Kickstarter. The article offers a breakdown of the pros and cons of the practice for developers and contributors, and explores the impact it may have on Mac gamers. While the concept of a crowdfunded game is still relatively new to the gaming community, awareness of this avenue for game developers is increasing every day. To date, Kickstarter was used to fund around 270 gaming projects. Among the more notable of Kickstarter projects include Carmageddon, Leisure Suite Larry and Double Fine’s Double Fine Adventure, a classic point and click-style game from the maker of the Monkey Island series.
