Runic's Torchlight Action RPG Coming To Macs

At the 2009 Penny Arcade Exposition Runic Games recently unveiled its new action-RPG, Torchlight. The game is due to launch for Windows gamers on October 27. According to a recent iGame Radio report a Mac version is also in progress for release at a later date.
Torchlight will feature an easy to use interface for players of all skill levels, a level randomizer to make each individual adventure unique, and a suite of development tools for gamers interested in creating their own adventures.
On hand to demonstrate the game were Runic Games’ CEO, Max Schaefer, co-designer of Diablo; and President, Travis Baldree, designer of Fate. Runic Games’ development team features the same talent that brought the bar-setting, action-RPGs, Diablo, Diablo II and Fate.From iGame Radio:

Torchlight sets itself apart from other action-RPGs with its intuitive, approachable interface, which enables gamers of all skill levels to quickly immerse themselves into the rich game play and varied world of Torchlight. The level randomizer will ensure that each adventure is unique with different monsters, treasures, puzzles and items for players to find, defeat, and unlock. Through a powerful suite of development tools, Runic Games will empower players and game enthusiasts alike to create and share their own content and levels.
The company also revealed a Mac version of the game in the works. President and project director Travis Baldree and CEO Max Schaefer admitted that they have already been developing a Mac version for the game. “It was our intent to have a Mac version,” said Max Schaefer. The Mac port is at about the “midway point”, and is being performed by an unspecified third party.Torchlight will be available as a fully downloadable game for US$19.99.
