Guitar Hero World Tour Previewed 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
IGN has published preview of Guitar Hero World Tour, the recently announced Mac and Windows incarnation of the popular musical rhythm game. The game offers wireless controllers, new online and offline gameplay modes, and a Music Studio feature for composing and editing original rock and roll anthems. From the onset things were as I remembered them. The instruments we were using were of the PS3 variety which means there were little dongles attached for every wireless instrument in the room. The same instrumental arrangement is possible on the PC as on console with my demo only making use of the guitar and drum peripherals (keyboard can also be played instead of an actual guitar). Everything from the menu designs to the sounds the buttons make when you make your mode selection are identical to every other Guitar Hero game. Features are also going to be identical, right down the music creation. The only difference is that the PC version as it currently stands does not allow for you to share your created songs. The songs of World Tour are also making the conversion. The Aspyr representative on-hand said the PC version will have an identical track list to what the console versions had when they originally launched last year. As for DLC, that's something that Aspyr is still keeping mum about. It's unclear how PC gamers are going to get their hands on the downloadable tracks that console gamers enjoy, whether it will be on a disk or through the normal periodic download service that Activision provides.
