Civilization IV Patch Released 6:59 PM | Tuncer Deniz | 8 comments
Aspyr has posted a beta patch for Civilization IV for the Macintosh. The new patch fixes a nasty bug that caused certain Macs, especially G5's, to run the CPU's excessively. The game should no longer run dual CPU's to 100% capacity. The patch also fixes some missing sounds to play correctly. Other sounds may still be inaudible. A future official release of the Rev A patch will address those. Here are a few known issues with Civ IV: If you experience kernel panics on Intel Macs, make sure you have installed the latest version of the OS X 10.4.7 Combo update. If problems persist, turn off FSAA options and/or run the game in a window.- Some sounds will not play, or will play at such low volume they can't be heard. The Civilization IV patch is available for download from Macgamefiles.com and weighs in at 15 MB.Don't have Civilization IV yet? Pick up a copy at Macgamestore.com for $49.95.
