id Software: Wolfenstein Sequel Coming 9:18 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | 21 comments
Further to today's news that the PC version of id Software's Quake IV has gone gold and is expected in store in a matter of weeks, the legendary game developers confirmed today at a Microsoft event in Amsterdam that a sequel to the highly-popular Return To Castle Wolfenstein is also in the works. The latest chapter of the Wolfenstein franchise, built atop a new graphics engine aimed specifically at next generation hardware, will send players deep behind enemy lines in war-torn Germany in an attempt to turn the tide of war. The game, currently being developed by Raven Software and executive produced by id, is being developed first for the Xbox 360 and PC markets. While a Mac version of the game wasn't specifically mentioned in the press release, id Software's previous commitment to the Mac platform would indicate that the chances of the game being ported are good.
