New Version Of America's Army On The March 7:54 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
As the end of August approaches, and the American public prepares for one final media onslaught by presidential hopefuls, Epic Games and the U.S. Army have announced that a new version of their first person tactical shooter is preparing for deployment. America's Army version 2.2, which includes two new maps and multiple bug fixes, is in the final stages of testing, and is expected to be released in the next few weeks. The update to the free shooter is currently without a name, and the developers have asked fans of the recruitment tool to put forward their own ideas for the game's next moniker. Think you can do better than "AA:SF Seek and Hide" or "AA: SF Overkill"? Head over to the America's Army forums and submit your suggestion using the link below. Meanwhile, readers who haven't had the chance to try the much talked-about title should head over to IMG's sister site MacGameFiles and download the free, Unreal Tournament-based game, and give it a whirl. Despite weighing in at a whopping 743MB, the game is one of the site's most popular titles, racking up an impressive 132,056 downloads as this article was written.
