A recent AP story notes that Warner Bros. has recently acquired Monolith, makers of titles such as No One Lives Forever and Aliens vs. Predator 2. Monolith will now be held under Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, which is currently working on the upcoming MMORPG Matrix Online.

Besides the potential ramifications this could have for future business deals, this also notes a time when large entertainment companies are starting to take more notice of the video game industry.

The deal is expected to close October 1st.
