Feral Interactive has updated their news page today, noting the advancement of Chessmaster 9000 into beta testing. The UK-based team hints that, while the game's development cycle has been longer than normal, they are again hoping to provide Mac-specific improvements to the port of this title. They also note Chessmaster 9000 should be available sometime this fall.
Here's a clip from the posting:
Anyway, the good news is that it has now reached beta and is running pretty well. We are in the process of macifying the interface! While it will not look like a perfect aqua version of the game, we are aiming to make Mac players feel far more at home than they might with a straight port of the PC version.Have a look at the Feral mini-site for the game if you're curious for more information.
In other news, Feral is planning to attend the Paris MacExpo late this month. They are hoping to show a few in-development games, so those attending should get a good sneak peak of their upcoming wares.
