In an announcement last week on Atari game forums, Epic Games Inc. gameplay programmer "Dr. Sin" has informed posters that the recently-revamped game statistics code for their first person shooter Unreal Tournament 2004 are back online, and are currently undergoing thorough testing.
As work on the statistics code in still underway, the programmer reminds forum readers that the stats server may go down at any time. Once the work on the code is completed and the revamped code is fully operational, existing stats will be purged in an effort to flush out any previously flawed information. Stay tuned to IMG as further details on the UT2004 code develop.
In further Unreal news, Atari and Epic Games announced last Friday that the PC version of Unreal Tournament 2004 - Editor's Choice Edition will be released this fall.
The new edition, which will include all the content from the original release, will also feature new maps for the game's popular Onslaught mode, new characters, new vehicles, and a large selection of the best fanbase-made game modifications (mods), as selected by the game's designers.
While there has been no official announcement on Epic's part regarding a Mac version, chances are good that this new edition will be making it to our favorite platform, based on sales figures for UT2004, and previous incantations of the popular first person franchise. Stay tuned to IMG as further news on this new edition surfaces, and, if you haven't already, head over to the IMG store to order your own copy of the popular shooter -
