B&W2 Dev Diary Talks Miracles

GameSpy has posted another entry in their ongoing series with developer diaries from the Lionhead crew regarding the upcoming god-sim/strategy game Black & White 2. This time the game designer John MacLean talks about miracles, and the aim to make miracles to feel more godlike. Like the use of molten rock, more commonly known as magma.
From the article:
Thanks to the advanced liquid physics we created, magma will roll down hills, scorching new paths in the earth, filling gullies, and setting everything alight. You can encircle enemy troops in a line of burning death, which then leaves your opponent multiple ways to counteract your miracles. Such a well-constructed system leaves so many possibilities for the player. And, in fact, for Jonty's Creature -- too many, upon first encountering squeezable magma, it spilt it over its feet and had to race off to find water to cool itself off! The great thing about this flexible system is that once it's in place, how you use it as a god is entirely up to you. And you'll think of things we haven't even considered! To read the full entry in the developer diary, head over to GameSpy with the help of the link provided below.
Black & White 2 is still in development for PC, and while official no word has been said on a Mac version, the first game made it to the platform thanks to UK-based publisher Feral Interactive and the porting skills of Zonic. Feral has indicated in the past they hope to do the same with the sequel, so stay tuned to IMG for any new information on the title.
