Team Unpfhorgiven has released a new beta of Marathon: Resurrection, their total conversion for Unreal Tournament that brings the legendary first person shooter from Bungie to the 3D world of the UT engine.
Some of the changes in this build include:
Real-time carnage report Tycho at Team Unpfhorgiven also notes that this hopefully will be the last demo build, and that the next release of this major project will include the full singleplayer campaign.
LOTS of code cleanups and bugfixes
Integrated AMS code into PlayerPawn/Bot classes to allow skin packs like the Mjolnir skin contest skins
Carcasses are messier
Restructured PlayerPawn/Bot class hierarchy and renamed a bunch of classes to folow a logical convention
Restructured Gametype hierarchy. MarathonGame subclasses TeamGamePlus, all Marathon gametypes subclass MarathonGame.
Created a new toggleable UI (select in Mod menu) which replaces the default UT setup. In addition to simply looking RAD, this will help keep MR stuff like maps and player models separate from stock UT stuff.
When that will be out depends on how much help the team can get, but they aim for a summer release. Head over to the Marathon Resurrection site to find out how you can help out.
