Savage Dev Leaves; Mac Version In Limbo?
8:05 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
The weekend brought news that one of the lead developers and co-founders of S2 Games, creators of Savage: The Battle for Newerth, has decided to leave the company to form another gaming group. In a post to the S2 forums, Sam McGrath notes he will try to provide unofficial support for the game even in his departure, and he mentions the Mac OS X port specifically as something he will attempt to work through.
Here's more from McGrath's post:
There have been some questions as to how much support there will be for Savage now that I'm leaving. I can't speak for the rest of S2 about this. I can say, at least, that I am still happy to answer any questions anyone has about the SDK (coding questions especially), and will do what I can to support Savage unofficially in my spare time. The Mac port of Savage is something I have not forgotten about. If I can work out some kind of distribution method with S2, hopefully it will still be possible to get this out there. It would be a shame for the Mac version of Savage, which is reportedly fairly well underway, to be left unreleased at this point. Stay tuned to IMG for any new word from S2 Games on the status of the Mac port of this FPS strategy title.
