HaloMods, a resource for modders of the premier first-person shooter Halo, has recently launched their sister site MacHaloMods, intended to allow Mac users to get a first look at what modding Halo is all about. The website is sparse for now, but offers Mac users a place to begin learning about Halo modding.
Currently the website offers a tutorial on how to perform meta swapping, a basic Halo modding technique. In addition, visitors can download the Halo Modding Tools program, allowing users to swap metas without a hex editor, as well as extract textures and reskin various objects in the game.
Although the PC world has already seen a number of mods for Halo, the revolutionary first-person shooter from longtime Macintosh developer Bungie (now a part of Microsoft), the Macintosh modding world has yet to take off. Those interested will likely find MacHaloMods a valuable starting point for their future projects.
