If all goes well at Valve Software this summer will be characterized by gamers everywhere forsaking the sunny suburbs for the dark alien worlds of Half-Life 2. An article at CNN Money features a quote from Valve's marketing director stating that Half-Life 2 will be released for PC this summer. Originally slated for release last October, the game was delayed due to the source code being stolen by hackers off of Valve's network. Valve's publisher, Vivendi Universal Games, slated the game to be delayed until April of this year.
Here is a quote from the article at CNN Money:
While still shying away from giving a firm date, Doug Lombardi, Valve's director of marketing, told me the company "is currently targeting this summer for the completion of Half-Life 2".Half-Life 2 is the sequel to the popular first-person shooter Half-Life, released in 1999. Half-Life 2 has not been confirmed for Mac, but we'll keep you posted on any announcements in that direction.
