Dark Horizons Preview 8:06 AM | Chris Stein | Comment on this story
Gaming website Adrenaline Vault has posted a preview of the upcoming Mech Warrior-style shooter, Dark Horizons: Lore. The developer of Dark Horizons, Max Gaming Technologies, last Friday released an open beta of its upcoming game, which has so far had 7652 downloads and growing, giving Dark Horizons potential to be a sleeper hit. The preview, however, thinks the gameplay has a long way to go before it will be able to attract it's target audience. Here's more from the article: Each MAV carries at least two weapons: the first is either a plasma rifle or autocannon; the second is always a missile launcher. Rounding out this ordnance is a limited number of countermeasures and mines. The amount of ammunition available is entirely dependant on the mech itself. As mentioned, the lighter and faster the machine, the less armament available to the pilot. For example, Hunter scouts carry a plasma rifle with 300 rounds and 20 homing missiles, whereas the Mantis infantry sport an autocannon with 150 rounds but only 60 explosive rockets. Comparatively, the Liberator carries 300 rounds of sidearm ammunition and 80 homing missiles - the same numbers the Juggernaught boasts. Tanks also have laser weapons that feed off the internal power supply, which means, technically, they have unlimited ammo. Like the Energizer Bunny, they just keep firing and firing and firing… Dark Horizons: Lore, is currently at beta stage and is playable over the internet. The game boast persistent multiplayer statistics, 8 playable mechs and many other features to come. Check out the article at the link below.
