New Savage Q&A Posted 11:15 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
Gaming fansite HomeLAN Federation & Alliance has posted a new Q&A with S2Games' Jesse Hayes regarding the upcoming update for their online game SAVAGE: The Battle for Newerth. The real time strategy and first person shooter hybrid is unique in online multiplayer games in that it offers players two different types of gameplay depending on the type of character chosen. Choosing the commander class will present players with an in-depth RTS-type game managing the resources, planning the attacks, and leading real human players into battle. Choosing the warrior class will immerse players in a FPS universe, where they'll master unique weapons, powerful units, and siege vehicles into the battles laid out by the game's real commanders. Topics covered in the in-depth interview cover the gamut of questions ranging from fanbase reaction to the new genre to a detailed analysis of the upcoming new game content: HomeLAN What other new gameplay content and improvements will also be a part of the expansion?Jesse Hayes Honestly far too many to list. This will be a HUGE content update. This is why we are calling it our 2.00 patch / content update. Some of the most noteworthy additions are: demo recording, completely re-rewritten and highly optimized network code, all new weapon effects, new healing units, new structures and upgrades, tons of polish, countless bug fixes, and balance issues. While the PC version of Savage was realeased in mid-September, the Mac version of the title is well underway, and is expected to ship soon. Stay tuned to IMG for more new on this title as it develops.
