Apple's Games section has taken a closer look at ToySight, the camera-controlled collection of small games from Strange Flavour, the creators of highly the addictive shareware games Bushfire and AirBurst.

ToySight shares a game engine with the upcoming AirBurst Extreme, but there won't be any balloon popping in ToySight-- instead you are faced with a large number of highly varying objectives.

The games featured in ToySight run the gamut from Sky Diver, in which you freefall through the air and try to land as close to a target as possible, to Ghost Hunter, where the challenge lies in splatting ghosts with custard pies before they can slime you. You can even grab objects off your desk — Freeverse recommends using real toys — for Toy War, in which ToySight creates a digital replica of what it sees in the camera and places it in an arena, where it battles another toy supplied by a friend.

ToySight was announced hitting Gold Master yesterday by the publisher Freeverse Software, so we should be able to get it before the holidays.
