CH Announces Throttle Quadrant 9:23 AM | Tim Morgan | Comment on this story
CH Products, a longtime developer of USB joysticks for Macs and PC's, has announced the latest addition to its extensive lineup: the Throttle Quadrant. Promising to add additional levers for the control of multi-engine aircraft, the Throttle Quadrant may prove to be a welcome addition to the desktop of any armchair pilot who has had to tackle the throttle, prop, and mixture controls of each engine on a two-horse airplane. To quote the press release: After receiving a monumental amount of e-mails, attended numerous meetings, worked unapproved, callus-induced overtime and witnessed excessive head-scratching -- I am extremely excited to announce that CH Products has finally, officially begun pre-production on the highly anticipated, multi-engine CH Throttle Quadrant. Functions include, but are not limited to... - Six fully programmable axes
- Twelve separate button positions via six individual flipper switches
- Programmable to 30 different functions/keystrokes or mouse emulation
- Fully compatible with the latest Control Manager programming software
- Designed with the same unbeatable quality, construction and technology you've come to expect from CH
The Throttle Quadrant will be available in spring of 2004. It has a current target price between $200 and $250. CH Products manufactures a full range of joystick peripherals for Macintosh. They hold a unique position in the Macintosh market as the only producer of rudder pedals and the creator of the CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle, arguably the most versatile (if also the most expensive) HOTAS systems available for Macintosh.
