Matt Diamond, resident writer at Inside Mac Games, recently conducted an interview with Carlos Camacho, founder and creator of independent game developing website iDevGames, concerning this year's upcoming independent Mac gaming competition uDevGame 2003. The interview covers a wide range of information, including an estimated launch date for the competition, what sort of changes are in store this year, and much, much more. Below is an excerpt from the article:

Carlos: With the success we had in 2002, I was really hoping to meet or beat our figures from last year. I started to contact sponsors early this year, so that has helped. Unfortunately, with the global economy as it is, some of my contacts have either moved on, or were "down-sized." So, this has meant starting from step one for many past sponsors when dealing with their new representative. The first month, response was luke warm, but about a month ago things started to pick up. My list of contacts is pretty long and reads like a who's who of the Mac world. It's great to have sponsors join us and say that they really believe in what we are doing. I hope that your readers will look at the final list of sponsors, and do business with them, because it is those companies that care about the Mac platform and Mac gaming!
My forecast is that we will have more sponsors than uDevGame 2002, and we should either hit, or beat the prize pool from last year as well. If I could get Adobe's or Alias' attention, then things would really heat up! Still, we have some big names and many fantastic prizes -- so much that I want to turn over my Editorial job to someone so I can join the contest this year!
