The Omni Group Featured in Seattle Times 2:19 PM | Lucian Fong | Comment on this story
The Seattle Times Business and Technology section published a short interview with the president of The Omni Group, Wil Shipley. The interview discusses their origins and briefly touches on his "relationship" with Microsoft. Here, Shipley reminisces about the "golden years" at Omni: Living it up: Programming brought in "gobs of money" for Shipley and his friends in those early days, he said. They did what most twentysomethings would do: spent it — on a theater system, pinball machines, air-hockey tables, foosball tables and video-game systems, including the legendary Atari Jaguar. "Normal geek stuff," he said. The company still employs a chef who cooks lunch and dinner for the staff every workday. Of course, Mac gamers know Omni for porting many of their favorite games, most recently recently Aliens vs. Predator 2 and the upcoming No One Lives Forever 2.
