In a news article at Strategy Planet that the adventure/strategy game, The Republic: The Revolution has effectively reached the Gold Master state is to be expected to ship sometime in September. While the game's publisher, Eidos Interactive, has not officially made this announcement, the article notes that the code sent to the publisher was proclaimed final, so an official announcement is expected sometime soon. Here's more from the article:
Well... in a matter of speaking, anyhow. Demis Hassabis, one of the top bods at Elixir, has emailed me a short explanation of why the release dates continue to be pushed back. In it, he explains that "the game is done and the Gold Master candidate submitted [to Eidos] (in 6 languages!). It's now up to Eidos how fast they want to turn the manufacturing and distribution process around. It's possible to do this turnaround in two weeks but they've decided to delay that to September to ensure a simultaneous worldwide release."Republic for Mac will be published by Feral Interactive. Republic (effectively) goes 'gold'
Well - it's far from an ideal set of circumstances, but it is good to know the game has been done. The game is due out some time in September now.
I would like to also point out (as there has been a lot of interest in this news post from external news sites) that Eidos have not *officially* announced Republic as "gold". It is my understanding, however, that the code they currently have will be the final one to be delivered from Elixir and therefore the announcement from Eidos is only a matter of time.
