The folks at MacGameZone were recently informed of a press release from TransGaming concerning upcoming support for the Mac. As to what the company does, TransGaming's initial focus was to bring games to to the Linux platform, using programs such as WineX, which allows Linux users to play Windows titles such as Warcraft III, Grand Theft Auto 3, and Max Payne. Earlier this year IMG brought you word on TransGaming's efforts to bring Windows games to multiple other platforms using a technology called Dynamite, created in partnership with another company called Transitive. The recent press release contains a statement from TransGaming president Vikas Gupta, reiterating their Mac support and noting that they plan for these efforts come to fruition sometime next year: We will launch our first Mac titles; forge new relationships with exceptional companies; work with game developers and publishers towards the simultaneous deployment of games on multiple platforms, and most importantly, we will continue to deliver unsurpassed customer service, unrivalled quality products, and ensure that our users continue to have just as much fun as we do. While it's probably a little too early to get excited about this, more options for porting titles to the Mac are always welcome. We'll be sure to keep tabs on this one, and let readers know if we find any more developments. It should also be noted that TransGaming currently has an open Mac developer position open for OS 9 and OS X. Check out the job listing for more information.
