The newly-formed Mac publisher United Developers has released the news that three of their titles in development, Sin, the expansion pack Wages of Sin and the sim Majesty, have reached 'beta' status.
Sin is a first-person shooter from Ritual Entertainment. On the PC side it suffered the misfortune of being released at the same time as Half-Life and also being rather buggy upon its debut. Nevertheless, it consistently makes editors' top ten lists as an involving, action-packed shooter with great graphics and sound. The expansion pack Wages of Sin is huge, with a full-length solo mission and much more action, weapons and enemies.
Majesty is a sim from Hasbro Interactive developed by Cyberlore, with an interesting twist -- it is a fantasy kingdom sim which involves RTS-like combat. As lord of your Kingdom you must develop your resources and defend your borders while managing the various desires and demands of your populace. With gorgeous graphics and an epic storyline, this game won rave reviews on the PC side, and will be a great addition to the Mac sim genre.
With news of these titles reaching Beta status -- which means the features are complete, they just need to be tested for bugs and incompatibilities -- We may expect them in stores within the next two months, perhaps sooner. And then we can start to anticipate what wonderful titles United Developers will bring to our platform next...
