Dark Zion Folds

Wombat Games has announced that development of their futuristic Massively Multiplayer Online RPG Dark Zion has been halted permanently. This is sad news for Mac gamers, as this project was to be one of the few MMORPGs destined to come to the Mac platform. Apparently a lack of funding/publisher interest led to the pulling of this game's plug. Here's a quote from the official web site:
Due to lack of funding and publisher interest, we have stopped development of Dark Zion. The office has been closed and the employees are looking for jobs (see the team page if you are an interested employer). We wish the best for the team and hope they can sign on with other development houses quickly -- perhaps other Mac-friendly software companies... Dark Zion was still deep in the conceptual stages, and nothing of significance was ever shown to the public. Mac gamers looking for MMORPG action like Everquest and Ultima Online should look towards Wolfpack's upcoming title Shadowbane, which should be out sometime next year for Mac and PC.

We wanted to thank all of the fans and the Dark Zion Vault for their support. Thank you.
