Two New Omni Group Games Underway
6:00 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
The Omni Group updated their games page recently with word that two new, unannounced projects are now in the works at the OS X development house. The latest games from the company include many titles for publisher MacPlay, including Fallout, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Incoming, and Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, which was just recently announced as going gold master and being sent to duplication.
Also still in the works at the Omni Group is Freedom Force, the superhero strategy title which uses the NetImmerse 3D engine, created by NDL. As with other engines like Quake and Unreal, getting an up-to-date Mac port eases the transition of porting any other NetImmerse titles to the Mac as well (which include popular PC games like Morrowind and Dark Ages of Camelot). Keep in mind this in no way guarantees any such ports, instead just making it easier since the baseline technology is already running on the platform.
For more information on these titles and how they are progressing, keep an eye on the Omni Group page. If you have any guesses as to what the two new games could be, be sure to throw them out in the IMG forums.
