Vengeance: Myth III Editor for Mac 'Soon' 6:00 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
An interesting screen shot was posted over the weekend at Antennahead Industries, the personal site for long-time Mac game programmer Andrew Meggs. The shot depicts an OS 9 application running a window with the title "The Crypt of Mazzarin" and a subtitle of "Soon." Myth fans will recognize this as a level from Myth III: The Wolf Age, and the editor for the game (which never made it to the Mac) Vengeance. IMG talked briefly with Meggs about the project and why it's starting up now. It seems after the disbanding of the team working on Myth III, he was without a Mac to finish the port of Vengeance. Thanks to some generous fans, he's now in possesion of a G3 and back on track. He hopes to also bring Vengeance to OS X and even hints there may be more coming for fans of the series: Right now there's no timetable because I'm heavily involved in two other projects, but converting it to Carbon and OS X is definitely in the plans. The Myth community could actually be poised for something of a renaissance over the coming months, because Take 2 has given a group of people permission to work on some updates, especially in the area of multiplayer. It's good to hear the multiplayer aspects of Myth III may still get some tweaking, and we'll keep you posted on any new information released about Vengeance.
