Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, created by EA and published for the Mac courtesy of Aspyr, features an ultra-realistic World War II setting where you must relive the terrifying experiences of the Allied forces. In addition, MOH:AA also boasts a powerful multiplayer support, making the fun virtually unlimited.

Yet there is always room for improvement, and EA has demonstrated this rule once by announcing the release of an expansion pack filled with extra levels, weapons, and goodies. Currently untitled, this new expansion pack is sure to offer many new thrills for fans of the multiplayer and singeplayer modes.

In fact, in a preview at GameSpy, EA boasts that the new expansion will offer an entirely new, professionally crafted singeplayer scenario:

While initial reports of the expansion portrayed it as multiplayer-focused, the add-on will actually contain 9 new single-player levels set across three missions, placing you in the boots of a new hero -- Sergeant Jack Barnes. You'll once again visit the classic Omaha Beach level, but this time you'll be parachuting in behind enemy lines, attempting to clear the way for the assault on D-Day. In another mission, you'll take part in the famous Battle of the Bulge, and the final set of levels will have you assaulting Germany as you attempt to bring about the fall of Berlin.
More importantly for most fans of the game are the added multiplayer features:
In addition to the single-player missions, a number of new multiplayer maps will ship with the expansion pack, featuring noted locales from WWII Europe, such as Berlin and the Arnhem Bridge. Maps will support all the current gametypes, from deathmatch to the popular objective-based levels. Around 12 maps are being created specifically for the add-on, and about 5 user-created maps (winners of an Allied Assault mapping contest) should be included with the package as well. In fact, EA mentioned that a full SDK should be available shortly after the pack's release this November, to go along with the map editor that's already available to the community.
For more information and some screenshots, check out the full preview at Gamespy. The expansion pack is due on shelves this November for the PC. A Mac version has yet to be announced, but we'll keep you posted on any new information about the possibility.
