Freeverse Software announced today the release of version 1.0 of their 2D massive multiplayer online role-playing game Arcane Arena. The game has long been in public beta testing, so many gamers have had a glimpse of what the title is like.
Arcane Arena is free for characters up through level 3, then they must register. The fee is a very small $4.99 per month, or $29.99 for a full year of play. Here's a clip from the press release:
Using a unique battle-timer system in which individual speed characteristics affect the real-world rate at which you receive turns, Arcane Arena captures both the adrenaline rush of real time games and the complex, tactical satisfaction of turn-based play.If you haven't yet tried out Arcane Arena, head over to the games web site and download it now.
Arcane Arena runs in Mac OS 8.1 through 9.2.1 natively, and in the "Classic" environment under Mac OS X. Depending on customer feedback and support, an OS X native version is a strong possibility. So register if you want more!
