Shadowbane Audio Q&As Available 10:15 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
Those craving more information on Wolfpack Studio's upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game Shadowbane may want to give X-Treme Gaming Radio a look. XGR recently interviewed Chris Mancil, Community Manager for Shadowbane, and has posted the audio session in several parts for easy download. Some of the various topics discussed during the interview are as follows: - Background to Shadowbane
- Story behind the game
- How Shadowbane will be different from other MMOs
- Character Development and Creation
- Party System
- Guilds, Sieging, City Development
- Player vs Player
- Questions submitted through the Ask Chris Mancil thread in the XGR Forums
- Much, much more!
The origin of the name Shadowbane is actually discussed in the first part of the interview and apparently involves a war between the Humans and the Elves, with the Humans acquiring a legendary sword of power from which the game gets its name. Though the sword Shadowbane turned the tide of the war in the Humans' favor, the High King of the Human race loses the sword and is killed at the One Tree, whereupon the world is destroyed. The game world actually starts some 90 years after this cataclysmic event. The rest of the interview is broken up into nine parts, each encoded in MP3 format. Those seeking more detailed information on Shadowbane should give the interview a listen, as a wealth of information is revealed during the Q&A session.
