ATI Releases Driver Update for Retail Cards

ATI's Chris Bentley informed IMG that they have released updated Mac OS 9 and X drivers for all their Radeon and Rage 128-based retail products. The web update contains many bug fixes, performance improvements, and additional features. There is now an OS X control panel to adjust your TV out settings and toggle adaptive-deinterlacing. A long requested feature, full-scene antialiasing (FSAA), has also been added.
Before installing the drivers, it is highly recommended that you read the included documentation which lists installation instructions and potential issues you might run into.
Although it is not mentioned in the documentation, the driver update will work with the Radeon 7500, but the ATI control panel will not recognize the card. Also, adaptive deinterlacing will not work in Mac OS X yet. It uses the same drivers as the 2001 Radeon, so any enhancements will carry over to the 7500 (such as FSAA).
