Mac Clarification on Retail Tac Ops

Earlier in the year, IMG brought you word on a very popular Unreal Tournament modification being made into a commercial product called Tac Ops: Assault on Terror. Unfortunately of late, the team has made it clear through a number of forum posts that the retail box will be Windows-only. Distressed Mac fans of the mod have emailed us looking for more information, but it seems it's really up to the publisher Infogrames at this point.
As you probably know, Infogrames is the owner of the MacSoft label, and could likely publish a retail Mac version through them. It's also very possible (and being expressed) that some intrepid fans could create a Mac installer based on the PC version to work with a normal Mac UT installation.
Monday evening, TacOps team leader Laurent "Shag" Delayen posted this to the official game forums, explaining the current situation:
Infogrames is discussing that Linux and Mac issue. Part of the deal regarding taking Tactical Ops retail is that Infogrames also has the rights to all versions/SKUs of TO. Infogrames is the group to make the call on these issues and they are in the process of figuring out what the best decision is. The Epic license is a vital piece, considering this isn't a mod anymore, but a standalone application which must license the engine as opposed to getting it for 'free'. In all likelyhood, there could be eventually end up being a fan-created unsupported installer for the PC version and/or a Mac retail SKU, depending on how what Infogrames decides. We'll keep you posted as any new information about a Mac version becomes available.
Tac Ops Mac Forum Thread
Our problem is that our license of the Unreal Engine is for Windows only and no one wants troubles with EPIC.
We're aware of the importance of both Mac and Linux communities and you can be assured that we don't want to leave anyone out.
